The expectation of winning is more important than the probability of winning the game.
Suppose at some phase of the game you have determined that you have a 25% chance of winning. You bet 100 and the other players 400. One time out of four you will win 400 and three times out of four you will lose 100. In the end your average win would be 400x0.25-100x0.75 = 25. Despite the low probability, you are statistically winner!
